Tackling by Parts

We isolate and investigate three parts of the tackling process: (1) team pursuit – the collective effort of the defense to relentlessly pursue the ball as a unit; (2) the act of making a tackle – stopping the ballcarrier’s advancement of the ball; and (3) turnover creation – getting your offense the ball, including unearthing a new tactic for creating more, and more recoverable, fumbles.

Break it Down: The Impact of Motion at the Snap on the Physical Dynamics of a Cut

When a receiver goes in motion at the snap and runs a route, it changes the physical dynamics of their cut. Using player tracking data, we have developed recommendations to reduce injury risk for the offense and to provide actionable strategic insights on both sides of the ball.
